Nevesinje: Members of the Armed Forces of BiH continue search for Ratko Šipovac

The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina are still involved today, August 24, in the search for the missing Ratko Šipovac (42), a resident of the village of Zalom, municipality of Nevesinje. In addition to members of the 2nd Infantry Battalion of the 4th Infantry Brigade, the search has been expanded with the engagement of one UH1H helicopter from Rajlovac, tasked with searching the wider area of the Nevesinje municipality, reports the Patria news agency.

The engagement of the AF BiH is carried out in accordance with procedures, i.e., through the Ministry of Security of BiH (Operational-Communication Center 112), at the request of the Republic Administration for Civil Protection of the Republika Srpska.

Members of the 2nd Infantry Battalion of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the AF BiH have been engaged in terrain search since Friday, August 21, 2015, until late evening hours, with the involvement of 31 members of the 2nd Infantry Battalion/4th Infantry Brigade. Since the search was unsuccessful, the engagement of the AF BiH continued on Saturday, August 22, 2015, when 22 members of the AF BiH were engaged.

The search continued today with the engagement of 22 members. Given that the search has not yielded positive results, one AF BiH UH1H helicopter, with an experienced crew and modern search and rescue equipment, has been included in the search. Members of the AF BiH will, according to the search plan and in coordination with units on the ground, search the wider area of Nevesinje.

Also, in addition to the engagement of the Armed Forces of BiH, special forces of the Ministry of Interior with a search dog, civil protection units, firefighters, hunters, mountaineers, and residents of this municipality are engaged on the ground, and the engagement of AF BiH members remains until further notice, the Ministry of Defense of BiH announced.
