Selfless Engagement of the AFBiH Engineer Battalion: Clearing Roads and Securing Key Communications

(Patria) - Due to heavy snowfall that has hit the northern and northwestern parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent days, on March 30, 2026, members of the Engineer Battalion of the Tactical Support Brigade of the Armed Forces of BiH were dispatched to Mount Kozara with the task of clearing road routes leading to the radar position "Kozara" and the radio-relay hub "Lisina".

Members of the Engineer Battalion, as the bearers of winter service for military locations of the AFBiH, met this task prepared. A total of six battalion members were engaged with two engineering machines (a loader and a dozer).

Although the snow cover depth locally exceeds two meters, and despite problems posed by fallen trees and ongoing snowfall, members of the Engineer Battalion are not giving up and have so far cleared about 10 kilometers of local roads. The selfless engagement of Engineer Battalion members on this task is still ongoing.

In addition to this task, in the past few days, battalion members have been engaged in snow clearing at other military locations: "Adil Bešić" Barracks in Bihać, "Grabež" Warehouse in Bihać, "Krčmarice" Warehouse in Banja Luka, "Dubrave" Barracks in Tuzla, at the "Manjača" Training Ground in Banja Luka, and on clearing the road towards the communications hub "Velika Mahnjača" in Žepče, all to ensure the smooth functioning of life and work for AFBiH members and the local population at these locations.
