Disregarding court decisions is a criminal offense

SDA Vice-President Bakir Izetbegović, even after the adoption of the Declaration in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS) on not accepting the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH if it decides to challenge January 9th as the Day of RS, stated that everything he said before the adoption is still valid, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

- Court decisions are binding and their disregard is a criminal offense, and we do not need pressure on the judiciary. I think they are pressuring the court not to recognize decisions in advance, which is punishable by the Criminal Code of BiH. The Constitutional Court is an original Dayton institution and its rulings are binding. We do not need pressure on the courts, we do not need actions against the rule of law and the law. The legislative and executive branches must not exert pressure on the judiciary – said Izetbegović.

We remind that earlier the OHR, as well as the US Embassy, reacted and stated that this would be pressure on the work of the Constitutional Court of BiH.
