Nenadić and Sattler: Preserve transparency and reach the level of fighting corruption

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Mario Nenadić spoke by phone today with the Head and Ambassador of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina, His Excellency, Johann Sattler about the current situation in Sarajevo Canton, caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the declared state of natural and other disasters.

“I informed Ambassador Sattler about the activities undertaken in the area of prevention and medical care, as well as about the plan and already undertaken activities related to the economic situation and the preservation of the economy, which is severely affected by the consequences of the pandemic,” said Prime Minister Nenadić after the conversation.

He added that the need to secure additional capacities for supplying the Canton with medical equipment and sanitary materials, as well as with food and other products important for the lives of the citizens of Sarajevo Canton, was also discussed.

It is extremely important, even in such life situations, to preserve transparency and reach the level of fighting corruption, when challenges of this kind are particularly emphasized, which is the agreed position of Ambassador Sattler and Prime Minister Nenadić.

On this occasion, the ambassador was also informed about the activities undertaken to implement all orders issued so far, about the state of reserves and the level of readiness of Sarajevo Canton to cope with this global challenge.
The position of migrants and other vulnerable groups was also discussed, as well as all activities undertaken in this regard.

Ambassador Sattler congratulated the Government of Sarajevo Canton and the Prime Minister on the measures taken and pointed out that activities are underway to prepare an aid package from the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina to secure medical equipment and mitigate the economic consequences.

It was agreed that information would be exchanged daily between the ambassador and the prime minister, especially if there are changes in certain circumstances and priorities.
