Nenadić and Cardinal Puljić call on residents to respect all given orders

(Patria) - Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Mario Nenadić visited yesterday the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, and on that occasion wished him, on behalf of the citizens of the Canton, a happy Easter, and extended the same wishes to the Catholics of Sarajevo, as well as to all those living throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On this occasion, Cardinal Puljić and Prime Minister Nenadić also discussed the current situation regarding the coronavirus pandemic in Sarajevo Canton and beyond.

The Prime Minister informed the Cardinal about the measures taken, with the aim of prevention and protection, as well as the treatment of those infected with coronavirus in Sarajevo Canton. In this regard, the Cardinal assessed that Sarajevo Canton is dealing with these issues seriously and dedicatedly, and informed the Prime Minister that, fortunately, there are no cases among the clergy in the Canton.

He added that this year Easter is again being celebrated in Sarajevo in a special way, because holy masses with a larger number of faithful present cannot be organized.

 „We planned to broadcast the masses via public services on Friday, Saturday and Sunday,“ announced Cardinal Puljić.

The Prime Minister and the Cardinal agreed that this is a time when every resident of Sarajevo Canton should adhere to the recommendations of expert bodies and competent institutions, and respect all given orders, because this is a global trial that will certainly pass more quickly if we are disciplined.

„It is obvious that the 'circle is closing' and that where the pandemic began a few months ago, its calming is emerging and the 'light at the end of the tunnel' can be seen,“ stated Prime Minister Nenadić, and offered Cardinal Puljić any kind of help and support if needed.

The Cardinal thanked for the Easter greetings and sent greetings and blessings to all citizens of Sarajevo Canton.
