(Patria) - The continuation of the constitutive session of the City Council of Sarajevo was again interrupted due to lack of quorum. Although a general quorum was achieved, only one councilor from the Croatian people attended the session, which is why the condition for continuing work was not met.
The Chairperson of the City Council, Jasmin Ademović, interrupted the session and appealed to the councilors to get serious. In a brief address to the media, he emphasized that without the formation of new leadership and the election of the mayor, the Council cannot make decisions.
Let us remind you, the session was previously interrupted on May 27, also due to lack of quorum, and the reasons were disagreements within the ruling Trojka, specifically between SDP and NiP, regarding the appointment of the City Council leadership.
Although positive announcements followed about a possible agreement, it was not reached today either. The election of the mayor of Sarajevo also remains a contentious issue, with two candidates currently in play: Samir Avdić (NiP) and Predrag Puharić (SDP).
While political negotiations continue behind closed doors, the City of Sarajevo remains without a functional City Council and without an elected mayor.
