Let the game begin: Spectacular opening of EURO 2016, football magic until July 10

The ceremonial opening of the football spectacle took place tonight at the Stade de France, where hosts France and Romania play their first match of the European Championship.

On the pitch before the match, 150 can-can dancers and other volunteers performed their routines, while above, French pilots put on an acrobatic display.

The Euro will be played from June 9 to July 10. In ten French cities, across 11 stadiums, teams will play their matches in 6 groups of four teams each. For the first time in history, 24 teams will compete, as almost all previous championships featured 16 national teams.

The largest stadium is the Stade de France in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, with 81,000 seats, and the smallest is in Toulouse with 33,150 seats. The final match will also be played at the largest Stade de France.

Alongside the championship, union protests are taking place across France. For now, there are no announcements that the workers' demonstrations will be stopped.

As is known, the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team failed to pass the playoff for the Euro in two matches against the Republic of Ireland. The victory and first trophy for our national football team at the Kirin Cup in Japan was a kind of satisfaction for Bosnian football fans. The general opinion is that the Dragons, by their quality, should have been at this European Championship.
