Informal group of citizens not behind today's protests: 'Unrest is possible, we distance ourselves from all further gatherings'

(Patria) - The informal group of citizens "Reci dosta" (Say enough), which organized yesterday's protests from 3 PM to 4 PM, issued a statement regarding the gathering announced for today in Sarajevo.

"We want to address the media because our gathering yesterday was organized in accordance with the tragedy and at a level befitting the situation.

On the other hand, the gathering was absolutely in accordance with laws and regulations, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton was informed about all actions and the organization of our own stewards," they stated in the release.

They state that the call for the gathering, as well as during the gathering itself, clearly and decisively emphasized that the gathering was peaceful and not against anyone.

"Reci dosta" points out that they have noticed subsequent behavior of individuals, as well as the emergence of certain social media pages, that are trying to use their name to initiate protests (likely illegal) today or any other day, and speculations about possible unrest at those same gatherings.

(Patria) - Protests organized by the informal group of citizens "Reci dosta" have begun in Sarajevo.

They emphasize that there are claims that the "Reci dosta" group is also calling for today's protests, and they state that this is not true.

"Due to pressure, possible abuses, and endangering the safety of the people who organized the gathering on Saturday, the 'Reci dosta' group distances itself from any organization of public protests until further notice.

We hope that the time will come when it will be possible to organize without abuse," they concluded in the statement.

Let us remind you, thousands of citizens gathered yesterday at protests in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, called by the group "Reci dosta".

After more than 45 minutes, the organizers called on those gathered to observe a minute of silence in honor of the deceased Erdoan Morankić, after which the gathering concluded.

However, a part of the citizens continued the protests, and intersections at Marijin Dvor and Skenderija were blocked. They demanded that the Government of Sarajevo Canton (KS) resign.

The funeral for the deceased Erdoan Morankić will be held today in Brčko.

Doctors are still fighting for the life of a girl (17) who was injured in the tram accident. Three injured individuals who were treated at the KCUS have been released for home treatment.
