Nedeljka begged for help on TV for herself and her children, nobody knew she had killed her husband a year earlier

Nedeljka Kosovec claimed to journalists that her husband Ivica had left her with the children in complete poverty and sought help from good people through the media. Many citizens, seeing the conditions this mother of three was living in, responded to the call, reports the Patria News Agency.

No one suspected that the reality was completely different. All this time, the husband, whom she claimed had run away with his mistress, was - dead. She and her lover, several years her junior, had meticulously planned his murder a year earlier.

They killed him at the end of November 2013. First, they beat him to death with an axe while he was sleeping and fired several shots from a gas pistol into his head. Then they stabbed him with a knife, wrapped the body in tape, and drove it to a rural property near Vrbovec. They then tied a piece of iron rail to the body and threw it into a well located not far from his parents' house.

- Wherever she goes to look for a job, they refuse her because she has three daughters. And only 1,300 kuna a month. The family lives on child benefits. The ex-husband does not pay alimony - Nedeljka claimed in front of television cameras at the end of last year.

His father was horrified when he heard the news of his son's death. 'I still remember the last time I saw my son. He was sad and with his hands on his head, bent towards his knees. I asked him what was wrong. He told me: Dad, I'm a thousand percent crazy! I feel like hanging myself, because otherwise I might kill her and him. They are making a fool out of me,' the devastated father of the murdered Ivica told Jutarnji list.

He advised his son to get away from them for a while, which is why he also thought that was the reason he hadn't been around for so long.

Nedeljka's lover, unlike her, was tormented by the crime. Only recently did he admit to his family what had happened. The police received several anonymous calls, and a search operation began, which eventually uncovered the terrible reality.
