They don't get along, but in defending the right to glorify war criminals, Trivić and Dodik are in the same ranks!

(Patria) - After the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced Miodrag Malić to three years in prison for glorifying war criminals in Banja Luka, the president of the People's Front (NF) Jelena Trivić and the president of SNSD Milorad Dodik reacted.

Although legal experts have repeatedly explained that court verdicts are not commented on, as this is considered pressure on the judiciary and judges, who in a democratic society should have freedom of assessment and decision-making, in order to make the fairest decisions impartially, Trivić and Dodik did so anyway. Thus, Trivić accused the BiH Court of selective approach due to the aforementioned verdict, while Dodik, on the other hand, called for a rally in support of Malić.

"The dignity of the BiH Court obviously no longer exists. Justice is dispensed selectively, especially when Serbs are tried. Three years in prison for a picture! With the explanation that it is, according to the BiH Court, 'inciting national, racial, and religious hatred'. Miodrag Malić did not say a word at the mentioned rally, nor did he utter anything that would incite the act for which he was tried. It is even more absurd that the court acted on the report of a man from another entity who watched a recording of the rally on television. Not live, but a recording! Does this mean that the appearance of archival video recordings and photographs of Radovan Karadžić or Ratko Mladić in a documentary film would also be treated as a criminal offense?", claims Trivić.

Then she asked, "is this a message from the BiH Court to all Serbs that tomorrow any national symbol can become grounds for trial and prison sentence?".

"Don't the people employed in the BiH Court notice that for almost two decades they have not contributed to reconciliation in these areas, but only deepen hatred and intolerance among the constituent peoples in BiH? Because if that were not the case, the question arises why no one is tried who carries ISIL flags and other flags and insignia of terrorist organizations in columns around Bužim every year", Trivić stated.

Dodik also reacted sharply to the verdict of the BiH Court, calling for the organization of a large public rally.

"Do they really think someone will allow that? I support and will propose that we all gather around this case and hold a large, nationwide rally. Three years in prison? That's unbelievable. Unbelievable. That you are not allowed to raise three fingers, that it is somehow offensive, while nothing they do offends us. It doesn't offend me, nothing offends me", Dodik said, among other things, reports RTRs.

We remind you that Malić was found guilty because on November 2, 2022, at a rally of opposition parties in Banja Luka, he went on stage holding photographs of the former commander of the Army of Republika Srpska Ratko Mladić and the former president of Republika Srpska Radovan Karadžić, who were sentenced to life imprisonment in The Hague for genocide, crimes against humanity, and violation of the rules and customs of war.

The indictment states that Malić went on stage with the photographs, raising three fingers, and was found guilty of inciting national, racial, and religious hatred, discord, and intolerance.
