Sarajevo fans demand coach's resignation, Sablić not considering it

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Goran Sablić, FK Sarajevo coach, did not appear before the cameras after the loss to Velež at Koševo (0:2).

Fans chanted "Goran, leave" from the stands, and Sablić spoke about the match at a press conference.

- A disappointing match. We lost to a better team. Congratulations to them. By changing the formation, we came back a bit after the goals, we managed to do something. However, we were not dangerous. A deserved victory for Velež - Sablić said at the beginning.

He then emphasized that the club entered this season unseriously, but that he still believes they will manage to achieve something.

- We have the players we have. The characteristics of the players are what they are. On this field, it was evident that Velež players were superior. This season was entered unseriously. We have been struggling with certain things all along. Does it need to be better? Of course, it does. We are not satisfied. We need to turn around and build a team. I believe we will manage to improve something - Sablić added.

He then said that he does not absolve himself of responsibility and does not want to shift it solely onto the players.

- When it comes to the players, we are one. I train and lead them. I do not absolve myself of responsibility. I regret that we lost points in Široki Brijeg. When someone is better, it is not difficult to admit. We need both wingers. We don't have a replacement for Pidra. A faster center-back would also be useful, the Croatian expert pointed out.

It is obvious that he is not considering resignation, as he also said that he sees himself on the Sarajevo bench going forward.

- Of course, I see myself on the Sarajevo bench. I am motivated to improve this team. It didn't take me long to see what kind of roster I have. I know what the team needs. I have the knowledge and energy. Results should be accepted humbly - Sablić said.
