(Patria) - The Association of Fans of the Football Club Sarajevo (UNFKS), regarding the events before, during, and after the 17th round Premier League match played in Mostar between Zrinjski and Sarajevo, when Zrinjski fans injured the assistant coach of Sarajevo, Muhamed Džakmić. sent an open letter to the leaders of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We publish the statement in its entirety:
"The sports public in the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina is a silent witness to the systematic destruction of football as a whole, with special emphasis on the 'elite' level of competition - the Premier League. Year after year, the interest of the audience, for whom this sport should be played, is rapidly declining.
There are many reasons, constantly repeated, both through the media (at least the objective ones) and through the everyday life of the average sports enthusiast. What is concerning is the absolute, and we can already freely say, traditional lack of desire/will/interest of the umbrella organization of football in BiH for the competition pompously named the Premier League.
We ask the NS BiH a logical question - until when? Until when do you plan to raise the level of disinterest in anything, except for the national team, travel, and per diems? Until when do you plan to turn a blind eye to the galloping collapse of BiH football?
Until when do you plan to let the refereeing organization drive away even this small audience that remains at the stadium? Until when do you plan to repel, through your inaction, even these few interested investors in BiH football? Until when only to drain, and give nothing? Until when to build buildings for comfortable accommodation, while allowing football clubs to collapse and individuals to be endangered in the mud and mire of various 'football fields' across the country?
Until when to tolerate the revelry of nationalists, singing to convicted war criminals, like this last one in Mostar? Until when to synchronously label fans as hooligans, and order their mistreatment in the form of letting them into the stadium in the 25th minute, and chasing them out in the 80th minute?
Until when to tolerate the stoning of sports workers and endangering their lives? Until when do you plan to create the look of the table according to what suits your pockets? We will be satisfied with an answer to just one of the questions posed, and you choose which one.
A folk saying goes: 'You can do what you want, but not as long as you want!'
We take this opportunity to call upon the entire BiH football public to wake up from the lethargy into which they have been subtly pushed by the NS BiH and fight for what they love most - one day a week, watching their beloved club with dear people.
Fairly. Without referee thefts. Without stoning. Without police torture. Without a predetermined winner. Imagine, leaders, if someone took away from you (the national team) travel, hotels, planes, per diems? You would react too, wouldn't you!?"
