Search continues for fisherman who went missing in Jablanica Lake

(Patria) - The search for a 55-year-old man from Jablanica who went missing on Sunday while fishing on Jablanica Lake continues today.

With the support of the ISS Mostar, the area from the village of Ostrožac was searched yesterday, but in a different direction - towards Konjic, the GSS Jablanica announced, adding that certain traces were found that point to further search.

Drones and boat searches were used, and other nearby GSS stations also made themselves available.

According to statements from the family, the 55-year-old who went fishing on Sunday in a fishing boat on Jablanica Lake has not returned since and was not reachable by phone.

Immediately after the disappearance was reported, members of the GSS Jablanica went to the field, and after gathering all necessary information, with two boats and the help of locals, the shores of the lake were searched from the starting location in Ostrožac all the way to the village of Slatina.

The search was joined by members of the HGSS Čapljina, HGSS Posušje, GSS Tomislavgrad, and HGSS Čitluk with five drones equipped with thermal cameras, but on the first day of the search, no traces were found.
