Exhumation of a grave at Gradina near Višegrad continued

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The exhumation at the Gradina site in the municipality of Višegrad, which began two days ago, continued today.

It involves the excavation of a mass grave which, according to information from the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, is presumed to be located at this site and to contain the remains of victims who perished in Višegrad in 1992.

It is possible that this grave also contains victims who perished in Srebrenica in 1995.

Given that the terrain is extremely difficult, rocky, and inaccessible, special machinery brought from Goražde is today breaking up stones and rocks that were previously mined and dumped on the grave to conceal the bodies of the victims.

Excavations at this site will continue in the coming days to reach the grave.

The exhumation is being led by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH under the order of the Court of BiH.
