
Critics say Nasiha Kapidžić-Hadžić is one of the most significant Bosnian poets, prose writers, and editors. Born in Banja Luka on December 6, 1932, and died in Sarajevo on September 22, 1995, she dedicated almost her entire life to children and writing children's poetry and dramatic texts, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).
She completed primary and secondary school in her hometown, and the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. Initially, she worked as a professor at the Banja Luka gymnasium, and then she was an editor in the Educational and Children's Program of Radio Sarajevo. She then moved to the Publishing House "Veselin Masleša" where, until her retirement, she was the editor of the children's and youth edition.
Nasiha Kapidžić-Hadžić wrote poetry for children, poetic prose pieces, and dramatic texts. Her poetic and prose works have been included in a number of anthologies and readers for elementary schools.
For her creative work, she received a number of awards and recognitions, including the Sixth of April Award of the City of Sarajevo, the "Veselin Masleša" award presented by the City of Banja Luka, two annual awards from the Publishing House "Svjetlost", and others, reports NAP.
