The "Miljacka" settlement, under construction in Sarajevo behind the RTV Dom in Džemala Bijedića street, has received an energy efficiency certificate from the independent housing certification agency ENOVA, which is legally required for all new and old public buildings since 2013, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
The buildings in the "Miljacka" settlement are designed according to global energy saving standards in housing through appropriate and functional apartment design, building orientation on the plot, and the use of quality built-in materials and equipment.
- By applying the most modern construction methods and materials, an energy saving effect has been achieved throughout the year, which undoubtedly also affects environmental safety. Sarajevo needs a revolution when it comes to eliminating the biggest causes of air pollution, and the biggest are certainly energy-inefficient apartments; otherwise, in a few years, we will not be able to live in this beautiful city. Aware of these facts, we have invested significant funds in energy efficiency and environmental protection in the "Miljacka" settlement. At the latest, upon Bosnia and Herzegovina's entry into the EU, it will not be possible to sell apartments and houses that do not have such a certificate, meaning they are environmentally acceptable for society and the environment - said Hrusto Tupeković, director of the investor of the "Miljacka" settlement, MS&WOOD.
The facade systems in the "Miljacka" settlement have thermal insulation 15 cm thick, which saves energy, thus reducing costs for heating in winter and cooling in summer. Residential units are insulated from each other, and from external corridors and staircases. As the largest energy losses occur through window surfaces, high-quality PVC profile windows with 3 panes and 3 seals have been installed, among the first in Bosnia and Herzegovina. For complete control of housing costs, individual calorimeters and water meters have also been installed.
In addition to the usual infrastructure and a large number of parking spaces, the "Miljacka" settlement will have all the facilities necessary for quality housing and living, such as playgrounds, a kindergarten, a supermarket, etc. The settlement is located in the immediate vicinity of the main city promenade along the "Miljacka" river and the Olympic swimming pool, and not far from the settlement is the recreational-sports center "Safet Zajko", which they call Sarajevo's future "oasis of peace".
The energy efficiency certificate is a legal obligation for all newly built residential and commercial buildings, as well as all old public buildings, since 2013. The certification process is carried out according to the directives and guidelines of the European Union. The independent agency ENOVA (www.enova.ba) is authorized to issue this certificate, which means it is professionally and technically-technologically equipped for this job.
