SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On Saturday, April 11, starting at 7:30 PM, the National Theatre Sarajevo will broadcast Gogol's comedy “Marriage”, directed by Petar Veček.
The dramaturgy of the play is by Zehra Kreho.
The play will be available on the NPS YouTube channel the following day, April 12, 2020, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The play “Marriage” is a comedy in which the satirical and the absurd intertwine to point to a deeply petty-bourgeois society where marriage is approached as just another “means” leading to a rise on the social ladder.
The hidden fear of marriage characteristic of men is also satirically depicted, as well as the immense desire for marriage recognizable in women, many of whom do not even know what actually awaits them within the institution called marriage. This play gains its comedic characteristics at the moment when the groom runs away and leaves the unfortunate girl “at the altar”.
If you have decided to forget the gloomy everyday life, we recommend you visit the YouTube channel of the National Theatre Sarajevo and watch the comedy “Marriage”, say the National Theatre.
