TENSE SITUATION IN FRONT OF THE FBiH GOVERNMENT: Miners dissatisfied with the agreement reached by their representatives, authorities, and EPBiH

(Patria) - A meeting between representatives of Zenica miners, the Ministry of Finance, Elektroprivreda, and the relevant Ministry of Mining and Energy has concluded.

"Conditions have been secured for the payment of May's salary by the end of the week, and June's salary by the end of the month. Elektroprivreda and the Ministry of Finance will resolve the model for the retirement of at least 22 miners. The law on the closure of RMU Zenica is in its final stages, currently at the Ministry of Finance, and upon completion, it will be sent to the FBiH Government and Parliament," said a miners' representative.

During the address of their representatives and union leaders, the miners expressed dissatisfaction and demanded that the negotiators return.

Union leader Sinan Husić stated that the payment of May's salary will be definitively completed by the end of the week, and June's salary will be paid by the end of the month.

"22 workers of RMU Zenica and 2 workers who met the conditions for retirement at the beginning of 2025 will have their situations resolved by the end of August," Husić stated.

The situation became tense as the gathered miners expressed discontent with this agreement and demanded that their representatives return and continue negotiations.
