After the building was sold for only 270,000 BAM, machines were taken out of Neretva this morning

This morning, machines from the Neretva building in the center of Sarajevo were taken out of this oldest BH company for the production of orthopedic aids, writes BH news agency Patria.

This building was sold at the beginning of December to Sarajevo lawyer Šaban Spiljak for 270,000 BAM, and from that money, debts to workers who sued Neretva for unpaid obligations will be paid.

The 800 square meter space, owned by Spiljak, was bought, as he previously told Patria, on behalf of the company „Agromilk“ Sarajevo, owned by his son. He offered, he says, the best price and became the owner of an attractive location. Instead of the company that produced orthopedic aids there, a discount store for dairy products will be opened.

Employees of the state company Neretva, which has a 66-year tradition, sued the company for unpaid salaries and other obligations. The Municipal Court in Sarajevo ruled in their favor, and to settle the claims, the Court sold Neretva's main business premises on Thursday.

At the end of February, bankruptcy trustee Jasmin Šarenkapa, appointed by the Court in Sarajevo, entered Neretva. The bankruptcy trustee will submit a report to the Court in Sarajevo, based on which the Court will declare bankruptcy for Neretva, which would mean that the authorities of the Sarajevo Canton will try to save Neretva, or will make a decision on liquidation, i.e., the closure of the company.
