AFTER SEVEN DAYS Coordinated action by utility companies to clear snow from pedestrian areas continued

(Patria) - This morning, the coordinated action of Sarajevo utility companies to clear and remove snow and ice from pedestrian areas continued in the municipality of Centar.

Workers from the companies Rad, Park, and Vodovod i kanalizacija were visited by the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Nihad Uk and the Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of KS Mladen Pandurević.

"After the roads were cleared, the cleaning of sidewalks has been ongoing for the third day. Today is one of those mass actions starting from the municipality of Centar towards Novo Sarajevo. The diligent teams of the companies Rad, Park, and Vodovod i kanalizacija are working day and night on mechanical and manual cleaning and removal of snow from pedestrian paths and sidewalks. We have also started with the controlled removal of snow by trucks into the Miljacka River, with the approval of the Civil Protection," said Prime Minister Uk, urging citizens, property owners, and managers to start removing icicles from roofs that pose a danger to passers-by.

Minister Pandurević apologized to the citizens of KS for the situation they found themselves in, although he added that it was not entirely the fault of the utility companies Rad and Park.

"The first two days, when it was snowing and raining ice, not much more could have been done. The problem was the next two days when there was insufficient coordination, and after the meeting, real progress in snow removal could be seen. No vital function in KS was threatened, but the comfort of citizens was threatened because the city was poorly cleaned. This should be a lesson for the future so that such things do not happen to us again," said Minister Pandurević.

Last night, utility companies cleaned sidewalks in Maršala Tita Street in a coordinated action.
