After public pressure, Novalić directs 560,000 KM from Elektroprivreda BiH to sports associations

The Federal Government today gave consent to JP Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. Sarajevo for the allocation of sponsorship funds for 2015. Thus, 340,000 KM will be allocated for sponsorship to the Football Association of BiH, 60,000 KM to the Handball Association of BiH, 110,000 KM to the Basketball Association of BiH, and 60,000 KM to the Association of Sitting Volleyball of BiH, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

However, it is interesting that the government of Fadil Novalić makes such a decision after the information first published by the Patria agency that Novalić had kept the approvals of the Supervisory Board of Elektroprivreda BiH and BH Telecom for allocating one million KM to sports associations in BiH in a drawer for over a month.

And now, when the public has questioned why there is no money for Bosnian athletes, the latest example being the cadet basketball selection that won a gold medal, and was saved from being expelled from the competition by FIS Vitez, which provided funds for the registration fee in the amount of 10,000 euros, Novalić, under pressure, gives the money.

It should be noted that financing sports associations in BiH with money from public companies is nothing new, as companies paid funds to associations even during the time of the previous government of Nermin Nikšić.

The same Prime Minister Novalić, like his party colleague, state Prime Minister Denis Zvizdić, of course did not miss the opportunity to be the first to fly and congratulate the young Bosnian basketball players after they returned with the golden trophy.
