After NIP's disintegration, the majority in the KS Assembly also fell apart: Gaković and Hodžić offer a lifeline to the Trojka

(Patria) - Rusmir Pobrić's departure from People and Justice has also shaken the current majority in the KS Assembly.

The NIP club in the KS Assembly, after the departure of Arijana Memić and now Pobrić, has five deputies. However, at least two of these five are candidates to leave NIP.

The Assembly majority will now depend on the will of the "independent deputies". Elza Gaković, who previously left SBiH, has most often sided with NIP, as has Admela Hodžić, who is on friendly terms with Aljoša Čampara.

Damir Marjanović left the KS Assembly in July, and Adna Mesihović, former Minister of Higher Education, entered in his place. Mesihović, apparently, will not be a lifeline for the current majority as she considers them responsible for the arrests in April this year. An investigation against her is still ongoing, and other searches were recently conducted in this case.

SDP BiH is now the strongest club in the KS Assembly with seven deputies, while Naša stranka has four deputies. The minimum majority for decision-making is 18 votes. The Trojka now has 16 votes. With Gaković and Hodžić, that's a slim 18 votes, which also increases the demands of these two deputies if the Trojka wants their support.

In the year before the elections, everyone will seek their position, so each subsequent session of the KS Assembly will be a kind of test for the majority, if it exists at all, or support will be sought on a case-by-case basis.

Although the Speaker of the KS Assembly, Elvedin Okerić, announced at the beginning of September that the continuation of the 19th working session, where voting on the work reports of most cantonal enterprises and institutions for 2023 remains, would be held soon, it is still unknown when this will happen. If the vote was questionable when the Assembly majority was more stable, with the latest turbulence, the risk is now to put these reports to a vote.
