After eight medals, Zvizdić tells SO BiH athletes he will try to provide financial help

Athletes of the Special Olympics of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Summer Games in Los Angeles are achieving success, winning eight medals in three days, including one gold, three silver and four bronze, writes BH news agency Patria.

We remind that in Los Angeles, the colors of Bosnia and Herzegovina are represented by athletes, swimmers and table tennis players, as well as the women's unified football team.

When our athletes started winning medals, numerous congratulations followed, and yesterday the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Zvizdić, also spoke out, stating on Twitter that he will try to ensure that the Council of Ministers also financially supports the valuable work of these athletes.

However, we remind Prime Minister Zvizdić that financial assistance for the athletes was needed long before their departure to Los Angeles, where they went only thanks to a handful of sponsors and a payment from our national team member Asmir Begović.

Begović paid 7,000 pounds and provided sports equipment worth 30,000 KM.

Although the Ministry of Civil Affairs provided 25,000 KM, those funds were not sufficient for the stay and expenses of our team from July 25 to August 3 in the USA.

Prime Minister Zvizdić should have reacted much earlier and secured funds for our delegation, not to mention that he should have been their patron.

When members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mladen Ivanić and Dragan Čović, can be sponsors of bullfights and haymaking days, then the third member, Bakir Izetbegović, could have been a sponsor of the Special Olympics of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
