The junior basketball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated in the semi-finals of the European Championship A Division by Turkey with a score of 82:77, after a good performance by the selected players of coach Marko Trbić, reports the news agency Patria.
The junior national team of our country failed to qualify for the final of the European Championship being held these days in Volos, Greece, after being defeated by Turkey. In the first quarter, the best young basketball players of Bosnia and Herzegovina showed phenomenal play. They took an 8:0 lead, and at the end of the first period they had a 20:18 advantage.
The Turks reduced the lead during the match, but Trbić's selected players often pulled away with a high lead.
With excellent play by Korkmaz and Taskiran, Turkey secured victory in the last ten minutes, reports NAP.
However, this success of the young basketball players is even greater considering the financial problems of the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They were literally at the mercy of FIBA and at the last moment received financial support from the company Bosnalijek to cover basic costs.
