After 15 months: First match played in Maglaj's "Pobjeda" hall

In the renovated sports hall "Pobjeda" in Maglaj, the first match was played 15 months after the devastating floods that ravaged the hall, writes the BH news agency Patria.

The first match in the renovated hall was played between the cadet team of RK Maglaj and the cadet national team of Qatar, which is in BiH for preparations before the Asian Championship.

Although in a new guise, the hall is not yet completely finished. Chairs are missing from the stands and some other equipment. The estimated damage to the hall exceeded one million KM, and thanks to donors, young athletes once again have a place to train.

We remind you that last year, shortly after the floods, the handball national team players, brothers Senjamin and Benjamin Burić, who took their first handball steps in this hall, recorded an emotional video about the consequences of the floods in this hall. At the beginning of July, two handball players from Qatar, Eldar Memišević and Selvedin Omahić from Maglaj, donated a scoreboard.

The renovation action lasted more than a year, so the new parquet was laid in May this year.

Otherwise, the sports hall was built on April 16, 1977, with the joint funds of the working people and citizens of the Municipality of Maglaj, as written on the board located in the hall.
