Biggest prizes in the history of European football championships

At the upcoming Euro in France, 24 national teams will participate and share 301 million euros in winnings. In Ukraine 2012, 196 million euros were distributed as prize money, while in Austria and Switzerland in 2008, a total of 184 million euros in prize money was distributed, Patria writes.

For a clean appearance, regardless of the result, each national team will receive 8 million euros, roughly the amount of the prize for participation in Brazil.

A point earned in the competition is worth half a million euros, and a victory a full million euros.

The finalists of the tournament will receive 6.5 million euros for placement. In the end, the Euro winner will receive an additional eight million, and the defeated finalist three million euros, NAP writes.
