Due to the warm and dry weather, the fox population in the Varaždin County has significantly increased, with foxes frequently entering yards in the areas of Trnovec Bartolovečki, Sv. Ilija, Sračinec and the City of Varaždin, including shopping centers and gas stations, reports e-Varaždin, as carried by the Patria news agency.
At the Varaždin Veterinary Station, no rabid fox has been shot in the last 12 months, thanks to the four-year "oral vaccination" carried out by aerial treatment, says Dr. Kristijan Šamarija, head of the Department of Environmental Hygiene and Sanitation at VSV.
