Bosnia's best swimmer Lana Pudar awarded an apartment in Sarajevo

(Patria) - The Municipality of Centar today awarded a modernly furnished apartment in Sarajevo to Bosnia's best swimmer Lana Pudar.

The keys were handed over by Mayor Srđan Mandić and councilor Denis Challenger.

Mandić expressed his satisfaction that the Municipality of Centar has gained a new resident, our golden Lana Pudar.

- With the top results she has brought to our country, Lana has obliged us to show that we value work, effort, commitment, and dedication. We are pleased that from today Lana Pudar will be a resident of the Municipality of Centar.

Lana is a citizen of the world, and it is a privilege for us that she has chosen the Municipality of Centar as her place of residence in Sarajevo.

Lana has represented our country in the best possible way in the world, and the least we can do in return is to provide her with adequate conditions for further progress and training - Mandić stated.

Last year, the Pudar family submitted a request for an apartment to the Commission of the Centar Municipal Council for housing matters. The then president of the Commission, councilor Denis Challenger, was also the initiator of awarding the apartment to Lana Pudar, and the proposal was unanimously adopted by the Centar Municipal Council.

- A big thank you to the Municipality of Centar and Mayor Srđan Mandić, and to everyone who contributed to the renovation of this apartment. It is an honor and a pleasure for me to see how much people and this municipality value the successes I have achieved.

The apartment will be of great importance for my comfortable stay in the capital during training processes - Lana Pudar stated.

The 78-square-meter apartment underwent a complete renovation before the keys were handed over. Socially responsible companies participated in the joint effort.

In 2023, Lana Pudar won nine European and world medals, including five gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.

She participated in 12 major finals, achieved two Olympic norms for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and set six records: two European junior records, three junior championship records, one world championship record, and won the trophy for the best female swimmer at the World Junior Championships.

Thanks to our siren from Mostar, the anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina has become a common melody at all major swimming competitions in Europe and the world. And with the new apartment, there is no doubt that the conditions will be easier, and the results even better.
