(Patria) - Rado Savić, Mayor of Lopare, submitted today to the protocol of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska (NSRS) a citizens' initiative, i.e., a petition by which 3,711 citizens of Lopare oppose lithium mining on Majevica and the opening of a mine.
In addition to the petition, Savić submitted a Declaration opposing the opening of a lithium mine on the territory of the Lopare municipality.
He expects the NSRS to accept the citizens' initiative and adopt an appropriate act opposing the opening of a lithium mine in the Lopare area due to its harmfulness to human health.
Savic was accompanied by Milenko Ristić, President of the Lopare Municipal Assembly.
