Mayor of Ključ Jasmin Musić: We prepared and reacted better, there were and still are many problems to solve

(Patria) - A larger part of the municipality of Ključ has again been hit by heavy snowfall, with areas at higher altitudes being particularly affected, announced the Mayor of Ključ, Jasmin Musić.

"Since the beginning of the week, following forecast data, I have consulted with the companies responsible for winter road maintenance, on local, regional, and main roads, together with my associates, and I have been informed that the machinery is ready and that the response to snowfall will be timely and of high quality.

The competent Fund has issued orders to all contractors, with most of them engaging all available human and technical capacities. However, on local roads in Krasulje and Kamičak, the announced and contracted engagement did not occur within the expected timeframe, but the situation will be significantly better by the end of the day," Musić announced, adding:

"I am also in continuous contact with the on-duty team of Elektrodistribucija (Power Distribution) and they have been working intensively to eliminate faults on the power grid, in order to restore regular supply as soon as possible to parts of the municipality that have been left without electricity. Significant progress is already visible in this segment compared to previous weather events".

According to the Mayor of Ključ, the water supply is stable, with the exception of short interruptions in places where there was a power outage and in Humići due to a pump failure, which was repaired in the shortest possible time.

He further states: "Members of the Civil Protection and the Professional Firefighting Unit also had activities during the day and last night, assisting the on-duty teams of Elektrodistribucija and the Ključ Health Center. Vodovod (Waterworks) employees promptly repaired the pump failure in Humići, and two nights ago, they responded adequately in Kamičak late at night. JKP RAD (Public Utility Company RAD) employees are managing to keep the city streets and access to all vital facilities clean and passable at all times".

"I ask citizens for patience and understanding, with the assurance that the situation in our municipality will be brought completely under control before any other community in the surrounding area. Of course, I commend the neighborly actions and joint cleaning of intersections and side roads. This speeds up the process. One always learns from mistakes. The reaction to the weather disaster is not perfect this time either, but it is far better than it was before," concluded Musić.
