Body of Croatian hiker found on Visočica

(Patria) - The Prenj Mountain Rescue Service found the body of a Croatian citizen who had gone missing in the Visočica area.

The operation involved 16 members of GSS Prenj, 35 members of the Sarajevo Canton Mountain Rescue Service, a patrol from the Konjic Police Station, as well as a larger number of hikers who provided information and assistance on the ground.

The lifeless body of the missing hiker was found after searching a wider area of the Visočica mountain. Following an investigation by officers of the Konjic Police Administration, a technically demanding operation to retrieve the body began on extremely difficult and inaccessible terrain, which lasted about two hours.

The body of the deceased hiker was handed over to the Konjic Police Administration shortly after midnight, after which a debriefing of all participants in the operation was conducted.

The operation concluded without injuries or difficulties for the rescuers.

This operation once again demonstrated the importance of mutual cooperation between mountain rescue services, police structures, and all individuals who contribute their efforts to help in the most difficult moments on the mountain.
