TO THE PROTESTS, NOTHING ELSE Đidić: The plan is to steal our territory and lead us like lambs to the rabid wolves

We have not yet fully confronted the facts about the true place and role of the OHR at a time of sharp fractures within our own community, as well as the Western community. Today, as the drama over the selection of a new High Representative for BiH approaches a white-hot intensity, the time has come for a final reckoning with these issues.

What will citizens demand when they gather tomorrow, June 2, 2026, organized by the Circle 99 of Independent Intellectuals, at 6 PM for a protest rally in front of the OHR, just one day before the historic session of the PIC member states in Sarajevo?

This moment demonstrates the existence of self-awareness among citizens who know they cannot permanently entrust their fate to others, whether it be the OHR office or the US Embassy.

However, here once again, with particular determination before the eyes of the world, it is shown that citizens refuse to surrender their destinies to the interests and plans of ethno-fascist elites who seek the dismemberment and disappearance of the country to which they have tied their own survival.

This call for protests, issued at this critical moment, can be interpreted in this time of general resignation, fatigue, and apathy as a sign that there is still a degree of political self-awareness and responsibility among citizens.

At best, this also represents the greatest pledge for a new political battle as the possibility of our second liberation.

The protests come at a time of complete blockade of the country. We find ourselves in a new political siege, with paralyzed institutions, leaders without vision or courage to seek ways out of this state of suffocation and quiet disappearance.

A country with amputated legs cannot move forward. We live with a peace agreement that is called a peace agreement in name only. This is an unbearable state of life under constant threats of dismemberment, under constant blackmail, pressures from the shadows of Dodik's special militias, surrounded by military alliances that send us warnings that we are in a new siege.

The Dayton Agreement, implemented halfway, implemented on a "smorgasbord" principle, brought freedom to ethno-fascists and hegemonists. As difficult as it may be, the demand of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, sent to the PIC headquarters, especially to its guests from the E3 countries, is short and simple - the time has come for you to be brave.

The time has come to rehabilitate the Bonn Powers or other measures. Because the situation in the country has never been worse since 1995. You are called to do this not only in the name of the freedom of citizens but in the name of the freedom of all of Europe and the credibility of its civilizational achievements, which are under the worst attacks from the European far-right.

It is time to save the dignity and respect of the OHR office. Because this institution was ultimately formed with the goal and purpose of being a response to genocide, crime, and the dismemberment of territories on European soil.

Citizens are telling the session participants that the selection of a new High Representative must stop the growing and dangerous trend of "de-OHRization" of the OHR, its increasingly meaningless and decapitated state. With this act of "de-OHRization" in the current geopolitical moment, the territory of this country is being served on a platter to the forces that started the war and genocide; the country, like a "lamb," is being led before the "rabid wolves" who from the very beginning wanted the territory of the country that today, apocryphally, they only call by the mild name – "state property."

The selection of a new High Representative is not just a mere bureaucratic formality; it is a crucial issue determining the future of this country. In the case of a wrong choice, a person under the influence of foreign lobbyists, a person with reduced powers, could stand behind a terrible truth – that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a finally sold country or, simply left for new backroom deals between the great powers.

However, the saddest truth is the fact that the OHR office with Christian Schmidt, due to his ties to Zagreb, has finished off, if not destroyed, the legal foundations of a European state.

It is clear that this was a strong signal to the soldiers of the Trumpist MAGA movement, eager for profit and wealth, so they could use this position for the "de-stating of the state" on the principle of "we will not build states" and under the slogan of bringing in a person who would carry out the job of "unpacking the Dayton Agreement."

Thus, the outcome of this PIC session could be an indicator of a terrible truth that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a finally sold country. Or, in other words, that under the auspices of a "legal body," i.e., the OHR, the melting down of the country according to the situation on the ground is being carried out, as demanded by the "aggressor hegemonic forces" (Enver Halilović). And because of this, our public must not wait for the country to simply be handed over to the wolves that have torn it apart and that for decades have made this country impossible and a failed state.

What should we, the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, do if the international community is unable to provide the right tools to break corruption, the stagnation of the country, and the ruin of the future of our generations, if you give up on this battle with the local ethno-fascists that it once won?

We will continue this fight for our country and our salvation. With a new self-awareness and a new politics that the Dayton constitution is temporary, immoral, and historical. We can call this our second liberation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
