SARAJevo, (Patria) - Officers of the Gradiška Border Police Unit, on May 4, 2019, prevented the smuggling of 26.8 kilograms of marijuana.
The narcotic drug was discovered during border control of a Mercedes, with Croatian license plates, at the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the BiH Border Police announced.
During the inspection, police officers noticed modifications to the lower part of the vehicle and, using specialized equipment, discovered 29 packages of marijuana wrapped in transparent foil. The driver, K.M. (1974), a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, was deprived of his liberty and handed over to the BiH Prosecutor's Office with a report on the committed criminal offense of "unauthorized trafficking of narcotic drugs".
Specialized equipment donated to the BiH Border Police by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany was used during the vehicle inspection.
