Support Programs of the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton for 2026 Presented at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Sarajevo

(Patria) - Support programs of the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton (KS) for 2026 were presented today at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Sarajevo.

The presentation was attended by representatives of the business community, institutions, economic associations, beneficiaries of previous support programs, as well as numerous interested businessmen and entrepreneurs.

The Annual Plan for the Implementation of the Small Economy Development Program for 2026 was presented, through which the Ministry of Economy of KS continues its continuous and systemic support for the development of the domestic economy through programs of lending under more favorable conditions, support for newly established business entities, technological modernization and digitalization of business, development of women's entrepreneurship, foreign investments, as well as incubation and business development programs.

The Minister of Economy of KS, Zlatko Mijatović, addressed the attendees, emphasizing that the Ministry of Economy of KS, through public calls, strives to include all categories of entrepreneurs - from women entrepreneurs and young people starting their own businesses, to business entities in the development and modernization phase.

He stressed that data from the Ministry of Economy of KS shows that previous support programs have made a significant contribution to the development of the economy in Sarajevo Canton.

As stated, in 2025, approximately KM 6.8 million was returned to the economy through support programs, 922 applicants applied for five public calls, and a total of 270 contracts were concluded.

2,575 workers are employed in the entities selected as program beneficiaries, and the largest number of beneficiaries belong to the manufacturing industry.

The presented data also shows that the Ministry of Economy of KS has concluded a total of 1,051 contracts since 2022, while 2,782 applications have been received for public calls.

The value of the concluded contracts in the mentioned period amounts to approximately KM 30 million, with the number of applications and concluded contracts increasing, which indicates an increased trust of beneficiaries in the support programs of the Ministry of Economy of KS.

During the presentation, it was also highlighted that all key economic indicators in Sarajevo Canton have shown growth in the last three years, including the average net salary, the number of employees, the number of registered business entities, and the total economic revenues.

The support programs were presented in more detail by Zlatan Mujak, Assistant Minister in the Sector for Entrepreneurship, Investments, Hospitality, and Trade, who presented the planned public calls, areas of support, and approximate implementation deadlines for the programs for 2026.

The calendar of public calls for the Ministry of Economy of KS for 2026 was also presented, with the aim of timely informing business entities about the planned support programs and application opportunities.
