
(Patria) - Martyrs' Day was observed at the "Kovači" Martyrs' Cemetery in Sarajevo on the second day of Ramadan Bayram.
A large number of families of the fallen attended the commemoration, along with numerous delegations, including the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić, delegate in the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament Kemal Ademović, Minister of Veterans' Affairs of Sarajevo Canton Omer Osmanović, and former Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić.
Delegations laid flowers to pay tribute to all the victims, and then flowers were also laid at the grave of Alija Izetbegović.
By the decision of the Riyasat of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina of January 23, 1995, the second day of Ramadan Bayram was declared Martyrs' Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a day of remembrance for all those who gave their lives defending their families, honor, homeland, and faith.
This day is observed by visiting martyrs' cemeteries, visiting martyrs' families, praying for all martyrs, and remembering their sacrifice.
