Catering facility burns down in Ilidža, firefighters' response prevents fire from spreading to KSC 'Sabit Hadžić'

(Patria) - A large fire broke out early this morning in a catering facility located within the Cultural, Sports and Recreation Center "Sabit Hadžić" in Ilidža. The fire was extinguished by three firefighting crews, and was visible from a great distance due to a large cloud of smoke that rose high into the sky.

The fire spread rapidly and threatened to engulf the hall of the Cultural and Sports Center, but a swift intervention by firefighters prevented this.

As reported to N1 from the Operations Center of the Professional Fire Brigade of the Sarajevo Canton, the fire was reported at 5:05 AM. Two firefighting crews were dispatched to the scene, but due to the scale of the fire, a third crew was also mobilized.

“The fire was contained at 5:50 AM and extinguished at 6:47 AM. Eleven firefighters participated in extinguishing it,” the duty officer told N1.
