More than 25,000 people expected at New Year's Eve celebration in front of the Eternal Flame

(Patria) - On the occasion of the New Year holidays, the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton once again reminds citizens of the changed traffic regime on certain roads in Sarajevo Canton, as well as of increased police presence, traffic control, and public order and peace.

The organizer of the public New Year's Eve 2025 celebration in front of the Eternal Flame expects more than 25,000 visitors. To reduce traffic congestion and facilitate faster travel, we recommend that citizens use public transport or authorized taxi services to attend these events.

Those who decide to come by their own vehicles should park them in designated parking spots and in accordance with the altered traffic regime. A complete list of streets where parking and traffic are prohibited is available on the website www.mup.ks.gov.ba

We remind visitors that it is forbidden to carry any firearms or cold weapons, pyrotechnic devices, as well as other items that could be dangerous to other visitors at public gatherings. Entry into the audience will not be possible with bicycles, scooters, and kick scooters. We also emphasize that the use of drones directly above the public gathering security zone is prohibited.

Before the official program in front of the Eternal Flame, from 7:30 PM to 8:15 PM, the first part of the traditional New Year's Concert of the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra will be broadcast via the largest LED screens to date along Titova Street.

Visitors will be able to watch and listen to the entire concert on the LED screen in front of the National Theatre, which, thanks to the City of Sarajevo, is lavishly illuminated.

All entrances are planned to be open from 7:10 PM.

Police officers of the Police Administration will conduct enhanced monitoring of traffic participants, with a special emphasis on driving under the influence of alcohol, and a zero-tolerance policy will be applied for driving under the influence of alcohol for all drivers who have illegal blood alcohol concentrations during checks.
