On today's session of the BiH Council of Ministers, appointment of SIPA Deputy Director, Dragan Andrić is the only candidate

(Patria) - Today's session of the BiH Council of Ministers should only include the proposal for the appointment of the SIPA Deputy Director, and the proposal was submitted by the Deputy Minister of Security of BiH, Ivica Bošnjak.

This concerns Dragan Andrić, the only successful candidate on the ranking list. He is a long-time employee of SIPA.

However, whether this appointment will even be on the agenda depends on the vote of Staša Košarac, one of the Deputy Chairs of the BiH Council of Ministers, and whether it will pass again depends on the vote for that proposal. For appointments and final decisions of the BiH Council of Ministers, at least one minister from each constituent nation is required.

Neither the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH nor the Minister of Defense, Elmedin Konaković and Zukan Helez, are present at today's session, so the only minister from the Bosniak constituent people at today's session is Sevlid Hurtić.

Although information emerged that the appointment of the SIPA Director, Darko Ćulum, who left SIPA in the midst of attacks on the constitutional order and submitted his resignation which was not accepted so that SIPA would not be left headless, would also be on today's agenda, according to Patria's information, this is not true.

Deputy Minister Ivica Bošnjak did not submit any proposal for the appointment of the SIPA Director, and this appointment has been stalled since September 2024 because there was no agreement on the proposal submitted by Nenad Nešić at the time. He proposed Slobodan Radinković.

If Andrić were to be appointed Deputy Director of SIPA today, the BiH Council of Ministers could dismiss Ćulum. However, everything depends on the agreement reached by SNSD and HDZ BiH.
