(Patria) - 17 years ago, specifically on July 21, 2008, Radovan Karadžić was arrested.
"He hid in Serbia for over ten years, inventing various ways to evade justice. Changing his name, nor the immense protection he enjoyed, helped him.
The Hague Tribunal has fulfilled its mission. Radovan Karadžić has been arrested and prosecuted.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment for the most serious crimes known to international law. Today, he is serving his sentence in Great Britain," recalled the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide.
