MVP BiH: Decision on Visas for Kosovo Basketball Players Not Yet Made

Due to great media interest in the newly emerged situation regarding the possibility of the Kosovo selection participating in the under-16 basketball championship in Sarajevo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina informs the public that a decision has not yet been made, and that the circumstances remain unchanged.

- We remind that from the letter of the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina it is evident that not all members of the Management Board of the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina stand behind the organization of the competition in which the Kosovo selection would participate, i.e., that there is no signature of support from the Vice President of the Management Board from the Republika Srpska. Also, the Minister's Cabinet was informed through direct telephone contact that there is explicit opposition to the participation of the Kosovo selection in this competition among representatives of Republika Srpska in the leadership of the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Basketball Federation of Republika Srpska.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina does not wish to bear responsibility due to the fact that there is no unified stance in the leadership of the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the mentioned competition.

- Finally, we remind once again that the Kosovo selection participated in the Balkan Volleyball Championship, held this year in Bijeljina, on which occasion the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued visas to all participants of the competition within the prescribed deadlines, because there was full agreement in the leadership of the Volleyball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the manner of participation of the Kosovo selection - state from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
