Muslims to mark the first blessed night of Laylat al-Raghaib - the Night of Wishes tonight

(Patria) - The Religious Affairs Directorate of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina informs believers that according to the Almanac of the Islamic Community, on Thursday, 2nd of Rajab 1446 AH, which is January 2, 2025, with the Maghrib prayer, the first in a series of blessed nights, Laylat al-Raghaib, known to us as the Night of Wishes, begins.

It is marked on the eve of the first Friday of the month of Rajab.

Laylat al-Raghaib is one of the chosen nights, and according to Islamic teachings, it represents the confirmation of Allah's, SWT, mercy towards man. Laylat al-Raghaib is also a night of supplications, wishes, and hopes.

The believer's supplication to Allah, SWT, has been and remains the bond and bridge connecting the Creator and His creation, and the night of Laylat al-Raghaib is an opportunity to draw closer to Allah's, SWT, mercy through supplication and worship, to thank Him for His blessings, sustenance, and abundance.

For a person who, in a fast and dynamic life, often loses orientation and balance between the spiritual and the material, supplication represents a special way of returning to the Lord and trusting in His help.

In the Islamic calendar, the nights of Laylat al-Raghaib, Laylat al-Mi'raj, Laylat al-Bara'at, and Laylat al-Qadr are more distinguished than other nights of the year, and are marked with increased worship, voluntary prayers, and recitation of the Quran.

The days and nights of the blessed months of Rajab and Sha'ban are heralds of the coming days of blessed Ramadan.
