Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid al-Fitr

(Patria) - Muslims worldwide are celebrating Eid al-Fitr today, which comes after the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Traditionally, Eid al-Fitr is celebrated for three days as an official holiday in all countries where Muslims are the majority.

Around the world and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Muslims hold prayers in mosques or large halls, and in many countries, prayers are also held outdoors.

Voluntary fasting is not allowed on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, and Muslims are invited to celebrate the holiday, which represents the celebration of the month in which they abstained from food.

Eid al-Fitr is an opportunity to visit relatives, neighbors, and to give children money or sweets.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the second day of Eid al-Fitr is also Martyrs' Day, when cemeteries are visited.
