(Patria) - Muslims around the world are celebrating the first day of Eid al-Fitr today, one of the two greatest Islamic holidays.
Eid al-Fitr begins on the 1st of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Hijri calendar.
Eid is celebrated for three days. The first day of Eid is spent with family, the second day involves visiting graves and is also marked as Martyrs' Day, while the third day is reserved for socializing with friends and acquaintances.
The central Eid celebration of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held at the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo, where the Eid prayer and sermon will be led by the Rais al-Ulama Husein ef. Kavazović.
