Muslims Await Laylat al-Qadr

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On the occasion of the blessed night of Laylat al-Qadr, the Riyaset of the Islamic Community in BiH is organizing a central ceremony on Friday, May 31, 2019, which is the 27th night of Ramadan, before the Tarawih prayer, at the Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque in Sarajevo. The program will begin at 9:45 PM. On this occasion, the supreme head of the Islamic Community in BiH, Reisu-l-ulema Husein ef. Kavazović, will deliver a message, and the program will be performed by renowned reciters of the Holy Quran and ilahija (religious songs).

The ritual of dhikr (remembrance of God) on the Night of Qadr at the Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque will begin half an hour after the Tarawih prayer. The community members are invited to mark this blessed night with their presence and worship.

Laylat al-Qadr is the most distinguished night of the year for Muslims. It is the night of the beginning of the revelation of the Quran and a night that essentially surpasses the limits and possibilities of human knowledge.

Allah, the Almighty, describes this night in Surah Al-Qadr as better than 1000 months. Laylat al-Qadr is the night of destiny, decision, and decree for everything. It is the night of determination and establishment of all that is to happen in the coming year: births and deaths, marriages, sustenance and fruits, health and illness... On that night, angels receive orders and assignments from Allah, the Almighty, for the realization of decrees and destinies for the coming year.

Due to its exceptional importance and significance in all mosques of the Islamic Community in BiH, both at home and abroad, this night is marked with special religious content and programs.
