
(Patria) - After the arrest of Miroslav Lazić, head of the Doboj Regional Department of the RS Administration for Inspection Affairs, within the operational action "Most", three more inspectors from Doboj were arrested, suspected of aiding the criminal offense of accepting bribes, and all have been handed over to the RS Public Prosecutor's Office.
As reported by Nezavisne novine, in addition to Lazić, Zlatko Kuzmić, Bojan Popović and Slađan Nešković were arrested.
As announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS, officers of the Criminal Police Administration today handed over to the Special Department for Combating Corruption, Organized and Most Serious Forms of Economic Crime the person M.L. from Doboj, who was arrested yesterday in Doboj, along with a report for the committed criminal offense of accepting bribes.
"The activities of police officers are being carried out within the operational action 'Most', in which three more persons, Z.K., B.P. and S.N. from Doboj, were deprived of their liberty, suspected of having committed the criminal offenses of accepting bribes in connection with aiding," the RS MUP stated.
Police officers conducted searches of vehicles and locations used by the persons deprived of liberty, during which items related to the commission of the aforementioned criminal offenses were temporarily seized.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs thanked citizens for their cooperation and called on them to report any suspicion of corruption to the police and the prosecutor's office.
Incidentally, regarding the arrests in Doboj, the RS Inspectorate issued a statement, stating that they support the activities of the police and the prosecutor's office being carried out with the aim of suppressing corruption and crime.
They stated that they are at the disposal of the competent authorities for all necessary data and information regarding the employment of the said person.
"Upon receiving complete and official information from the investigative bodies on this case, the RS Inspectorate will, in accordance with the law, take measures within its competence, which relate to initiating disciplinary proceedings according to the legally prescribed procedure," said the Inspectorate.
As they stated, they believe that no one is untouchable and call on all business entities and citizens who have information about illegal actions of their employees to report any form of corrupt behavior.
