RS Ministry of Interior procuring three multi-purpose helicopters and eight armoured combat vehicles

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska (RS) has initiated the procurement of three multi-purpose helicopters and ordered eight "Despot" armoured combat vehicles of domestic production.

According to the website specializing in security matters, www.balkansec.net, the RS police expect to receive the first two "Despot" armoured combat vehicles in the coming days, out of a total of eight ordered, and it is expected that procurement will continue beyond the initial quantity, according to a schedule that will depend on the entity's budget capabilities.

This is the first combat vehicle from the private company "Tehnički remont" from Bratunac, and the RS Government supported the order for serial production of these vehicles at its session on July 18.

The RS Government approved a plan to specifically procure three helicopters for the needs of the police, and it is planned that approximately 42.163 million KM will be spent for this purpose.

The RS Ministry of Interior has not owned helicopters to date.

The "Gazela" helicopter, which flew with police markings in 2005, became part of the Helicopter Service, an organization responsible for supporting the authorities and population of RS.
