RS Ministry of Interior informs all police agencies in BiH: We received information that the car bomb was intended for journalist Avdo Avdić!

(Patria) - The Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska has informed all police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina that it has information that the car bomb, which was being transported from Zvornik to Sarajevo in January by members of the criminal group of Dino Muzaferović Cezar, was intended for the liquidation of the editor of the portal Istraga.ba, Avdo Avdić.

The RS police stated in their information that their sources connected to the bomb's construction indicated that they “think the device was intended for journalist Avdić”. This information was forwarded by the RS Ministry of Interior to SIPA, which then forwarded it to the Federal Police Administration. Later, the information was passed on to the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, which officially informed the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office about everything on Thursday afternoon. We remind you that on January 13th of this year, members of the RS Ministry of Interior arrested three individuals from Sarajevo in Milići who were transporting a remote-controlled car bomb from Zvornik to Sarajevo. In the operation by the RS Ministry of Interior, Alen Fazlagić, born in Sarajevo, Seluedin Duraković, born in Zagreb, and Elvir Javorovac, born in Ivangrad, were arrested. All of them are BiH citizens and reside in the Sarajevo area. Police officers intercepted them after receiving information that unknown persons had taken possession of an explosive device in the Zvornik area. During the search of the vehicle, an improvised remote-controlled bomb with approximately 900 grams of explosives was found. All arrested individuals have been known to police agencies for years. Incidentally, Alen Fazlagić was arrested in February of last year when police agencies in BiH acted on a request from the Slovenian judiciary. The operation was conducted as part of the investigation into the murder of Satko Kekić in Ljubljana.

An indictment was later filed against Dino Muzaferović, known as Cezar, for this murder. Alen Fazlagić had direct connections with Dino Muzaferović Cezar and his criminal group. Fazlagić was even in contact with all the criminals who assisted Cezar in the murder of Satko Kekić in Ljubljana. Fazlagić is also known for destroying ATMs with explosives, which he then robbed. Security agencies possess information and evidence that he organized the purchase of weapons and explosives for Cezar's group.

However, the three associates of Dino Muzaferović Cezar who were transporting the car bomb and drugs, using forged documents in the process, were immediately released after questioning. The acting prosecutor of the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in East Sarajevo decided not to propose custody or any restrictive measures against Alen Fazlagić, Seluedin Duraković, and Elvir Javorovac.

“Based on your request received on 22.01.2026, we inform you that the Milići Police Station, on 14.1.2026, filed a Report on a Committed Criminal Offense against individuals with initials E.J. for the criminal offenses of Unauthorized Production and Trafficking of Weapons or Explosive Materials, Unauthorized Production and Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, and Forgery of Documents. The acting prosecutor, after opening the investigation and collecting documentation, especially after questioning the suspect in the presence of his defense counsel, decided that in this criminal matter it is not necessary to propose custody to the competent court, nor other measures, as the legally stipulated conditions are not met. The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in East Sarajevo will continue to take all necessary measures and actions in order to reach a lawful prosecutorial decision, about which we will inform the public in a timely manner,” stated the East Sarajevo Basic Prosecutor's Office in response to an inquiry from the portal Istraga.ba.

After being released by the Prosecutor's Office in East Sarajevo, the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton reacted and on January 24th ordered the FUP to arrest Duraković, Fazlagić, and Javorovac. The Municipal Court in Sarajevo subsequently imposed restrictive measures on Seluedin Duraković, Alen Fazlagić, and Elvir Javorovac. The Municipal Court in Sarajevo issued a decision imposing measures prohibiting the suspects from visiting certain places or areas, as well as a measure prohibiting them from meeting each other. The prohibition includes a ban on any form of communication between the aforementioned suspects.
