MUP KS: Drone use strictly prohibited in Sarajevo today

(Patria) - The final farewell to the legendary BiH musician Halid Bešlić will be held today in Sarajevo. The farewell program begins at 11:00 AM with a commemoration at the National Theatre Sarajevo, and citizens will be able to follow it in the Susan Sontag Square.

Due to the commemoration, traffic will be rerouted in Branilaca Sarajeva and Kulovića streets from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Today is a Day of Mourning in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Brčko District on the occasion of the funeral and commemoration of the folk music legend Halid Bešlić.

The funeral prayer will be held at 1:30 PM at the Begova Mosque, followed by burial at 3:00 PM at the Bare City Cemetery. The Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton appeals to citizens, if arriving by their own vehicles, to park further away from the old town core and not to obstruct traffic flow.

Due to the expected large number of attendees and increased traffic, police officers will regulate vehicle flow in all directions leading to the Bare City Cemetery. Temporary rerouting of freight vehicles to alternative routes is possible on the M18 main road, Vogošća - Bare section. Temporary traffic changes are also planned in Jukićeva, Betanija, and Dejzina Bikića streets, while movement of freight vehicles will be prohibited in Alipašina street from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The Police Administration specifically warns that the use of drones above gatherings of people at all locations is strictly prohibited.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton thanked citizens for their cooperation and understanding during the final farewell to Halid Bešlić.
