
(Patria) - The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of Sarajevo Canton (KS) has released new information about the accident in Mojmilo, in which a 73-year-old pedestrian lost her life this morning after being hit by a car.
The accident occurred around 10:20 AM. The car, as stated by the MUP KS this morning, hit the elderly woman and knocked her onto the road in X transferzala street.
A doctor from the Emergency Medical Service confirmed the pedestrian's death at 10:47 AM. The driver remained at the scene.
The duty prosecutor of the KS Prosecutor's Office was informed. Traffic on that section was closed until the investigation was completed.
In a new statement from the MUP KS, it is stated that after the investigation was completed, the body of the deceased pedestrian H.S. (1951) from Ilijaš was transported to the Bare morgue.
"Driver E.Č. (1969) was deprived of liberty due to the criminal offense of 'Serious Offenses Against Public Traffic Safety' (Article 336, Paragraph 4 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Alcohol testing confirmed that the driver had no alcohol in their blood.
Police officers, under the supervision of the prosecutor, are continuing their work on this case," the statement added.
