Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, on the main city road in Zmaja od Bosne street (Pofalići), stopped taxi vehicles in the evening hours and controlled them, writes the BH News Agency Patria.
Namely, in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there are dozens of so-called "wild" taxi drivers who obtain their papers in another canton and then drive taxis on the streets of Sarajevo, which is against the law. Another problem is the absence of license plates that must contain the TA designation, which is often not the case with illegal taxi drivers.
Another problem is that their numbers are growing day by day, which complicates the situation for legal taxi carriers in Sarajevo. Frequent controls by the KS Ministry of Interior, as well as inspections, will certainly contribute to the regulation of taxi transport, writes Patria.
